## How Botlens checks a listing (general method)
- Collects public listings from template directories and GitHub and pins what it read (commit or SHA-256).
- Runs a rule-based static scan of the instructions and, where available, the code, looking for broad classes of risk such as credential access, unexpected network uploads, shell execution, remote install scripts, sending without approval, broad permissions and promotional links.
- Records how much could be read: full code, partial, description only, or nothing.
- Assigns a badge: Safe (no obvious threats found), Caution (something to review first), Unscanned (nothing to read). Badges are heuristic, not guarantees.
- Some listings also get a hands-on behaviour review; results are summarised per check without publishing the test material.
